It’s time for Medford Beer Week

Medford Beer Week LogoWith the fast-approach of summer, it is hard to pinpoint just one great reason to visit southern Oregon – but the 2nd annual Medford Beer Week certainly tops the list. The event bills itself as, “a city wide celebration of the craft beer industry, focused on local and regional craft beers,” and based on the line-up of events, Medford Beer Week 2012 won’t disappoint.

Featured this year is the Walkabout Brewing Medford Imperial IPA, being tapped for the first time at the Open House on Sunday, June 10. Take the Frau Kemmling’s Schoolhaus Brewhaus School Bus park & ride from Beerworks in Downtown Medford, leaving every 30 minutes from 2 PM – 6 PM.

Elements (Downtown Medford) & Bella Union (Jacksonville) host prix fixe dinners on Monday night, featuring selected beers from Lagunitas and Mad River. On Wednesday, June 13, ride your bike to Bella Union for “Bike to Brews,” and get a pasta dinner and beer for just $10.

Medford Beer Week also features events held at two of Downtown Medford’s newest hotspots, Buttercloud Bakery and Havana Republic @ The Bohemian, including BBQ and Beers (@ The Bo) on Wednesday June 13 and Beer & Pretzels Blind Tasting Friday June 15 @ Buttercloud.

And don’t think that Medford Beer Week is just for the guys. Two events the ladies will enjoy are Beer & Chocolate Pairings with Lillie Belle Chocolates starting at 5 PM on Wednesday June 13 and Beer and Mexican Food Pairing at Habañero’s from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, a women only event presented by Women Enjoying Beer (advanced ticket purchase required – click to be directed to site).

Southern Oregon Brew Fest caps off the week on Saturday, June 16th. Located on Bartlett Road & Middleford Alley in Downtown Medford, the 21 & Older Festival runs from Noon – 8 PM and includes food, fun and of course, beer from nearly 25 breweries in southern Oregon, northern California, and the Pacific Northwest.
